Many congratulations to our clients, the Mad Hatters Tearoom and Bakery, in Chester, who featured on a recent programme, ‘Britain’s Best Bakery’ on ITV1.  The national competition will see 60 of the nation’s best independent bakeries fight it out for the title of ‘Britain’s Best Bakery’.  The Mad Hatters Tearoom and Bakery was competing against 2 other North West based bakeries and wowed judges Peter Sidwell and Mich Turner with their innovative creations.

Chemists turned bakers, Ann and Kerri, chose a red berry tea cupcake, filled with raspberry coulis and topped with red berry butter cream as their ‘speciality bake’; a peanut butter, chocolate brownie and cheesecake layered tray-bake as their ‘wild card’ bake and finally, a regionally inspired eccles cake.  It was a very tough ‘bake-off’ and despite not winning a place in Friday’s final, we think the ladies have much to be proud of!

“We are delighted for the very talented team at the Mad Hatters Tearoom and Bakery and congratulate them on this fantastic achievement.” said C&C Catering Engineers’ showroom manager, Cerys Hughes.  “We have been supplying them withcrockery, glasses and table-top sundries since they opened in 2011, in addition to much larger pieces of catering equipment such as ovens, fridges and electrical mixers.  We are also supplying their brand new bakery and baking school, which opened very recently in Pentre, Deeside.”

We wish Ann and Kerri continued success!
